1Open Gmail on your iPhone or iPad. It’s the red and white envelope icon typically found on the home screen.

2Tap a message you want to reply to. This opens the message.

3Scroll down to the bottom of the message. You’ll see boxes at the bottom with possible responses. These are called Smart Replies.

4Tap a Smart Reply. This creates an email draft containing the selected text.[1]

5Edit the text (optional). If you want to include anything more in your response (or change the response’s contents), make your changes now.

6Tap the Send button. It’s the paper airplane icon at the top-right corner of the message. This sends your response to the sender.
