You're slowly but surely buying into this social media trend, finding yourself armed with accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Foursquare... you can barely keep track of your own updates, much less the updates of your friends and followers on these channels. Echofon for Twitter can help you simplify your online life by running a full-featured Twitter client in your Firefox browser and syncing information with your iPhone or Android. Gone are the days when you needed to remember to constantly check Twitter. If you're ready to simplify your online experience today, see Step 1 to get started.

Steps

  1. 1
Go to the website and install the plugin. Once you have done this, you will have to restart Firefox.
  2. 2
Set up Echofon. Click on the gray icon to get to the Echofon setup screen.
  3. 3
Enter in your Twitter account username and password to link Echofon to your Twitter account. You can also tell it when to get your 'tweets' and show a popup.
  4. 4
Watch for a tweet notice. This will tell you if you have received any new tweets that you haven't viewed yet.
  5. 5
Check your current tweets by clicking on the icon and look. It will show your last 40 tweets. There is also a tab to show messages that you have received.
  6. 6
Check a URL before you visit the site. Twitterfox will allow you to check out the actual URL when you hover over the TinyURL.
  7. 7
Learn about the different "color codes" in Echofon.
    • Blue icon: The application is working correctly.
    • Red icon: The application can not retrieve information from Twitter; this usually happens if you have low or no internet access.
    • Gray icon: You may have account problems. Try deleting and re-adding your profiles within the application.
