Twitter censorship or their AI technology will hide or block your content from your followers and the whole community. This is called shadowbanning, also known as stealth banning or ghost banning. When Twitter finds you’ve been spamming or violating their policies, you get shadowbanned. If you've been shadowbanned by Twitter, your content will disappear from Twitter conversations and search results. So, people can't engage with your Tweets. This wikiHow help you to find if you've been shadowbanned on Twitter.

Steps

  1. 1
Log out of Twitter or open a private/incognito tab in your web browser. To activate incognito mode, click on your browser's menu and select New incognito window from there.
  2. 2
Go to the Twitter Explore page. Open www.twitter.com/explore in your browser to access the Twitter search page. Or, search for "Twitter search" in Google to find this page anytime.
  3. 3
Navigate to the search box and type “from:username”. Replace the “username” with your Twitter username. E.g: from:wikiHow. Hit the Enter button or click on the Search button to continue.
  4. 4
Check the search results page carefully. If you can't see your Tweets on the results, you've been shadowbanned by Twitter. If you see your Tweets, you are safe.

  • Question
What are the loud 'popping' sounds I hear when I type text retweeting certain accounts?

That's the sound that your keyboard makes when you touch the keys. The reason why you only hear it sometimes is probably because the sound won't play if your phone is muted.
  • Question
How about if I can only see older tweets, not the most recent one?

It's possible that your more recent tweets could be shadow-banned, but not your older ones.
  • Question
Do you type in the first part of your user name or the @username? When I put in the first part of my username, nothing is found but when I put in the username after the @, I can see my posts.

You have to put in your whole username. If you only put in part of your username, your results will not come up.
