How to Rename a Folder on Dropbox

Using the Desktop App

Open Dropbox. Its icon looks like a blue carton. It’s in the Windows/Start menu on a PC, and the Applications folder on a Mac.

Right-click the folder you want to rename.

Click Rename. The folder’s name should appear highlighted.

Type a new name for the folder. This will overwrite the highlighted text.

Press ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return. The folder is now renamed.

Method 2

Method 2 of 2:
Using Dropbox.com

Open http://www.dropbox.com/login in a web browser. You can use any browser, such as Safari or Chrome, to open your Dropbox.

Type your login information and click Sign in.

Click My Files. It’s on the left side of the screen.

Hover the mouse over the folder you want to rename. A check box will appear next to the folder’s name.

Click the check box. This adds a check mark to the box, which means the folder is selected.

Click Rename. It’s in the column on the right side of the screen.

Type a new name for the folder.

Press ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return. The folder now appears with its new name.
