How to Invite People to a Facebook Group on a PC or Mac

This wikiHow teaches you how to invite a someone to a Facebook group when you’re on a computer. If you're not Facebook friends with the person you're inviting, you'll need their email address to add them.

Steps

Go to https://www.facebook.com in a web browser. You can use any web browser, such as Chrome or Firefox, to access Facebook.
- If you’re not already signed in, enter your login information to do so now.

Go to the group. If its name appears in the Shortcuts panel on the left side of the screen, click it to open the group. Otherwise, start typing its name into the search bar at the top of the screen, then click it when it appears.

Click the box under “Add Members.” It’s near the top-right corner of the group page. The text inside the box currently says “Enter name or email address” inside.

Type your friend’s name or email address. A list of matching results will appear.
- If you want to add someone you’re not friends with, type their email address into the box.

Click the name or address you want to add. If the group allows its members to automatically add new members, the selected person will be added immediately.
- Some groups are set up so that admins and moderators must approve new members before they are added. If the person you added doesn’t appear in the group right away, they haven’t been approved yet.
