Bergmite is an Ice-Type Pokémon that was first introduced in Pokémon X and Y. At level 37, it evolves into the also Ice-Type Pokémon, Avalugg. [1] Catching Bergmite can be a bit difficult, since there aren't many locations where it can be found. Fortunately, this wikiHow will help you with catching Bergmite in Pokémon X and Y.
Steps
-
1Make sure you have enough Pokéballs with you. Bergmite's catch rate is on the higher side, so Great Pokéballs should work well [2] (however, make sure that you bring multiple Pokéballs with you, in case your first attempt at catching Bergmite is unsuccessful).
- If you'd like, you can also bring a few Quick Balls with you to try catching Bergmite immediately when the encounter first begins.
-
2Have Fighting, Rock, Steel, and/or Fire-Type Pokémon on your team. Because Bergmite is an Ice-Type Pokémon, it is weak to those types of moves. [3]
- Bergmite is not immune to any types of moves (though Ice-Type moves won't be very effective), so be sure to keep that in mind.[4]

3Know where Bergmite can be found. As mentioned in the introduction, there aren't very many locations where Bergmite can be found in Pokémon X and Y. However, it can be found in the Frost Cavern, as well as on the Ice-Type Friendship Safari. [5]
-
4Head to one of the locations mentioned above. The location you choose is up to you. However, note that Bergmite has a higher encounter rate at the Ice-Type Friendship Safari. [6]
-
5Walk around in your chosen area. You'll likely encounter quite a few other Pokémon, but eventually, you should encounter a Bergmite.
- Be aware that in the Frost Cavern, you won't be walking around in grass. Instead, you'll simply randomly encounter Pokémon as you're walking around.
-
6Lower the Bergmite's health to about half or less. This should make catching it even easier. Once its health is low enough, throw a Pokéball. Though it may take a few tries, you should eventually catch a Bergmite.
- Be cautious if you're using a move meant to poison or burn. Either avoid using these types of moves altogether, or be prepared to catch the Bergmite quickly after using the move.
- Moves like False Swipe can be great to use, since the Bergmite is guaranteed to be left with at least 1 HP.
-
7Enjoy using your Bergmite in battle!Advertisement
