How to Add a Phone Number on Twitter

Do you want to add your phone number to your Twitter account? You can do that from your computer or from the Twitter app.

Method 1

Via Twitter's Web Page

    Go to Twitter. If you aren't signed in, sign in with your account.

    Open your settings. Click on your profile picture from the top bar and select Settings and privacy from the drop-down list.

    Open mobile settings. Select Mobile from the left side.

    Select your country/region.

    Add your phone number. Type your number without adding 0 before your number. Hit the Continue button. Now Twitter will send a code via text message to your phone.

    Verify your number. Enter the verification code in the Verification code box and click Activate phone.

    Wait for Twitter to send you a confirmation message. Also, you can see a "Your phone is activated!" message on your computer.

    Launch the app. Sign in to your account.

    • If you have already added a phone number, tap on Update number.

    Tap "Add phone". Now Twitter will send you a verification SMS text message.

Warnings

  • If your phone number is linked to multiple accounts, you will not be able to choose which account can edit the SMS notification settings on Twitter.
