The luxury hotel Burj al Arab is a popular destination for those travelling to Dubai. Although the hotel has a policy of only allowing its guests inside, tours of its interior are included in city-wide tours of Dubai. The hotel also allows non-guests to make reservations for breakfast, lunch, tea, or dinner at its restaurants, bars, and lounges.
Steps
Method 1
Method 1 of 2:Visiting the Hotel as Part of a Tour
-
1Choose and book a tour of Dubai that includes a visit to Burj al Arab. Travel sites such as Get Your Guide offer tour packages to view Dubai's landmarks over the course of a half-day, Burj al Arab included.[1]
- Get Your Guide's guided tour can be found here: https://www.getyourguide.com/dubai-l173/half-day-dubai-city-tour-with-dubai-frame-tickets-t160202/
-
2Tour Burj al Arab as one of the stops along the tour. Burj al Arab will come around the midway point of the tour, and you will be allowed to stay around 15–30 minutes before leaving.[2]
- After entering the hotel, the group will have access to the hotel lobby, the mezzanine level, and the shops in these areas.
-
3Stay behind the rest of the tour if you wish to stay at Burj al Arab. The tour will continue to see the remaining sights after the stop at Burj al Arab. If you wish to stay longer at the hotel, you will have to let the tour leave without you.
Method 2
Method 2 of 2:Dining at Burj al Arab
-
1Choose which dining experience at the hotel you would like. Burj al Arab offers breakfast, lunch, high and afternoon tea, and dinner options at its 9 restaurants, bars, and lounges. The Al Mahara restaurant will be for fine-dining, while the Sahm Eddar lounge and Skyview Bar are for tea and light meals.[3]
- Burj al Arab offers dining across various cuisines, such as its far-east Asian buffet Junsui, the modern-French restaurant Al Muntaha on its top floor, or the traditional Arabic fare at Al Iwan.
-
2Make a reservation at one of the hotel's restaurants. From the hotel website at https://www.jumeirah.com/en/, select the ‘Restaurants’ tab at the top and then select ‘Burj al Arab Jumeirah’. The page will list all of the hotel's restaurants, and provide phone numbers to call to make a reservation, or allow you to do so online.[4]
- If a table is open, you will be able to make a reservation for the same day. Make note of the restaurant's cancellation policy however, mentioned below.
-
3Dress smart casual for breakfast, lunch, or tea. While these meals will be more casual than dressing for dinner, err on the side of more formal. Short sleeves, jeans, shoes, sneakers, and sandals are acceptable for both men and women. Shorts for men, and dresses and skirts with hems below the knee for women are alright to wear.[5]
- Wearing the United Arab Emirates national dress is also accepted.
-
4Dress formally when going to dinner. For men, wear a collared shirt with sleeves or have your arms covered by a jacket, trousers, and a closed-toe shoe. For women, a suit with trousers or a dress or skirt with hems below the knee are required, and less revealing tops are recommended.[6]
-
5Cancel your reservations 24 to 48 hours in advance. If you need to cancel a reservation, make note that you'll receive a charge per each member of the reservation if you cancel within the 24-hour window. Certain restaurants in Burj al Arab, such as Al Mahara, require a reservation to be cancelled within 48 hours.[7]
- In addition to reservations for high and afternoon tea, the charge will also apply to breakfast and beverage packages.
