This wikiHow Article will feature steps on using the Poké Radar, or anything how-to related to the Poké Radar in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. This article is only usable when you have the National Dex. The Poké Radar is essential if you would like to find Pokémon from previous generations or Alt. Colored Pokémon.
Steps
-
1To obtain the Poké Radar, you must have seen all the Pokémon in the Sinnoh region and obtained the National Dex. You need to see Professor Rowan in Sandgem Town to obtain the Poké Radar along with the National Dex. You must also pay an initial visit to Pal Park, since this is where Oak hands over App Number 20, the chaining app.
-
2After you have obtained the Poké Radar, go to a section of tall grass that nearly covers the screen.Advertisement
-
3Activate the Poké Radar. The tall grass should have moved or shaken, head for it.
-
4The encounter begins, which is a normal Wild Pokémon Battle. To continue use of the Radar, either capture the wild Pokémon or defeat it.
-
5If the Wild Pokémon has been defeated, the Poké Radar should have gone off again. Head to the farthest patch of grass that shook that matched the first one. If done correctly, the same Pokémon will be encountered for a number of times.
-
6Repeat Step 5 if the Poké Radar goes off again, go back to step 3 if the last encounter was different from the one before it.Advertisement

QuestionHow do I get Giratina on Pokemon Diamond?
Community AnswerGiratina is only available on Diamond and pearl through trading with a friend who has Platinum.
Warnings
- Be prepared to spend many long hours hunting down very common Pokémon. Just make sure to look carefully at what sort of "shake" the grass had, and go to the same time for the next round. Thanks!
- It may take a while, but if you get your chain to 40 or higher you may see a shiny patch with the Pokémon that you were chaining except it is shiny! Thanks!
