Great people don't just wake up someday and become great, they discover something they can do and then put it to work with lots of practice. Don Moen discovered his talent as a singer, he developed it by learning music and with much time spent practicing his ability brought him into the limelight.

Have you ever thought that you could do something better than others out there but you buried your talent because you thought you didn't have enough material to achieve your dream? Or maybe you felt you were not from a rich family. Most great people didn't come from good homes either but they never let their situation determine their faith, they dug deep within and with that inner strength from prayer they were more than conquerors. Pastor E.A. Adeboye wasn't born a pastor, after his call to serve God, he didn't let the situation and circumstances around him break him down. He didn't think of how hard it is to get people together to worship God, nor did he think of the rejection he would face, but now everyone is calling him.

In the Bible there’s the parable of talents; are you like the man who buried his one talent? Change your thoughts today and decide in your heart that you’re going to use that which your creator has given you.

Find yourself: What is that thing you know you are good at and which the Church can benefit from? Ask a close friend or go on your knees and ask God.

Join the crew: Once you know what you are good at, make inquiries of what it takes to join others that are serving in that area.

Practice: Choir, Drama, Usher, Prayer warrior e.t.c. No matter the group you’re in you must learn to practice. Practice makes perfect.

Press on: No one ever said it’s going to be easy. Don’t think about the challenges you are going to face but think of the trophy awaiting you at the end of the race.

Connect: Have someone you look up to. Someone who is better than you who can help you in situations when you’re lost.

Pray: Prayer is the key. Always ask God for help day & night, not just about the duty you have been assigned but about everything.

Does god really help us?

It is all about beliefs. I believe God helps us if there is anything catastrophic when all humans would die, or he helps us through our conscience or through other humans. There must be some role model or someone who you love the most. Do you see God inside them? However, by this I mean that God is deep inside their mind and God's creation, God's creation is not God. As for your question, I believe that God can only help us if we help ourselves since our future is determined by the decisions we make in our present. Rather than relying on God we should be independent and do hard work and believe in ourselves. If you are satisfied with your hard work, trust God to judge your hard work fairly.

It is difficult to preach to people today, since people have moved on to technological ideas more than spiritual ones. The most effective way to do preach is to help them; in this stressful time, let them feel God's love, which will help you preach to them according to God's ways.

What if I keep doing the same thing over and over, and even went to school and got a degree to improve my abilities, but got no paying position or compensation of any kind?

You might not get a reward for your labor or it may not be where God has called. Have faith and pray.

Don't let that stop you (provided your talent is not something that is harmful to other people or yourself). Follow your dreams. If your parents forbid you from using your talent, stay strong and obey them for now. When you are an adult, you can do as you please.
