How to Upload Pictures to Google Drive on Android

This wikiHow teaches you how to upload an image from your Gallery app to your online Google Drive library, using Android.

Steps

    Open the Google Drive app on your Android. The Drive icon looks like a colored triangle with yellow, green, and blue edges. You can find it on your Apps menu.
    • If you're not automatically logged in to Drive, you will have to sign in with your Google email and password.

    Tap the New Item button. It looks like a white "+" sign on a blue button in the lower-right corner of your screen. The "New" menu will pop up from the bottom.

    Tap the Upload button on the New menu. It looks like an upward arrow icon. It will open a menu panel with a list of your folders on the left-hand side.

    Tap Gallery on the menu panel. This will open your Android's image gallery on a new page.
    • Depending on your software version, you may see Photos here instead of Gallery. It will open the Google Photos library on your Android.
    • Alternatively, you can select Images on the menu panel. This will show you a list of all your image folders in Gallery.

    Tap the picture you want to upload. Find the picture you want to upload in Gallery, and tap it. This will upload the selected image to your online Drive library.
    • If you want to upload multiple images, tap and hold an image. It will select this image, and allow you to tap and add more images to upload at once.
    • If you're using Google Photos instead of your stock Gallery app, you will have to select all the photos you want to upload, then tap DONE on the top-right corner.
