How to Update the Galaxy S2

Updating your Samsung Galaxy S2 can help correct known software bugs while also allowing you to enjoy new features provided on behalf of the update. You can update your Galaxy S2 at any time by checking for automatic updates in Settings, or by installing updates manually using Samsung Kies software.

Checking for Software Updates

Using Samsung Kies

    Go to the official Samsung Kies website at http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/.

    Select the option to download Samsung Kies to your Windows or Mac computer.

    Double-click on the Samsung Kies file after it downloads to your computer. Your computer will install the Samsung Kies application.

    Connect the Galaxy S2 to your computer using a USB cable after Samsung Kies has finished installing. Samsung Kies will display any available updates upon recognizing your device.
