This wikiHow teaches you how to use command lines in Skype to update a group chat admin's role to user, using Android.

Steps

    Open Skype on your Android. The Skype icon looks like a white "S" in a blue circle on your Apps menu.
    • If you're not automatically logged in, tap the Sign In button at the bottom, and sign in with your Skype Name, email or phone and your password.

    Tap the Chats tab. It's at the top of your screen. This tab will list all your personal and group chat conversations.

    Tap the group you want to edit. This will open the conversation in full-screen.

    Tap the group name at the top. Your group's name is listed at the top of the conversation. Tapping it will open the group's details on a new page.

    Scroll down and tap the admin you want to remove. Your options will pop up.

    Tap View profile. This will open the selected user's profile page.

    Scroll down and find this user's Skype Name. Their Skype Name is listed under the PROFILE heading.
    • Make sure to take a note of your contact's Skype Name here. You will need to type it in the chat in order to update their role from admin to user.

    Go back to the group chat conversation. Tap the back button twice on your screen, and go back to the group chat.

    Tap the message field. The message field is labeled "Type a message" at the bottom of the chat conversation. Your keyboard will pop out.

    Enter /setrole <Skype Name> member into the message field. This command line will update your contact's role from admin to user.

    Replace <Skype Name> with your contact's Skype Name. Your command line should include your contact's Skype Name.
    • For example, if your contact's Skype Name is Jane123, you should type /setrole Jane123 member.

    Tap the Send button. This button looks like a paper plane icon next to the message field. It will process your command line, and update your contact's role to user.
