1Open Instagram on your Android. It’s the purple, pink, and orange icon with a white camera inside. You’ll usually find it in the app drawer and/or on the home screen.
- You can also share GIFs to your story using the GIPHY app.

2Tap the camera icon. It’s at the top-left corner of the screen.Advertisement

3Create your new new story addition.
- To upload an existing photo or video, swipe up on the screen, then tap the image or video.
- To take a new photo, tap the big white circle at the bottom-center part of the screen.
- To record video, tap and hold the big white circle at the bottom-center part of the screen, then lift your finger when you’re ready to stop recording.

4Tap the Sticker icon. It’s the square smiling face with an upturned corner at the top of the screen.

5Swipe up and tap the GIF icon. It’s close to the top-left corner of the menu (right below the camera icon). This opens the "Search GIPHY" screen, which displays several trending GIFs.

6Search for a GIF. You can type a keyword into the search bar at the top of the screen to find something specific, or just scroll through the trending GIFs.

7Tap the GIF you want to add. This adds the GIF to the new story segment.

8Drag the GIF to the desired location.
- To increase the size of the GIF, place two fingers together on the screen (right on top of the GIF), then spread them apart until you’ve reached the desired size.
- To make it smaller, pinch two fingers together on the GIF.

2Open GIPHY on your Android. It’s the black icon with a rainbow sheet of paper inside. You’ll usually find it in the app drawer.

3Search for the GIF you want to post. You can browse through the categories or use the search bar at the top of the screen.

4Tap the GIF you want to post. This opens a larger version.

5Tap the ⋯ icon next to the other sharing icons. It’s at the end of the icon row below the GIF. Additional icons will appear.

6Tap the Instagram icon. It’s the purple and white camera icon.
- If it’s your first time using GIPHY with Instagram, tap ALLOW to give the app permission to access photos and files on your Android.

7Select how to share the GIF. Tap the first Instagram icon (labeled Instagram) to share to create a new post in your feed, or the second (labeled Your story) to add the GIF to your story.

8Share the GIF to a new post in your feed. If you’re adding it to a story, skip to the next step.
- Crop the GIF (optional) and tap the arrow at the top-right corner of the screen.
- Tap a filter if you want to use one, then tap Next.
- Add a caption. This is where you can type the text you want to appear in your feed along with the GIF. This is optional.
- Tap Share. This posts the GIF as a short video clip to your feed.

9Share the GIF to your story. If you’re posting the GIF to your story, follow these steps:
- When you selected Your story, the GIF was converted to a video. If it’s zoomed in too far or warped, you can zoom out by pinching two fingers together on the screen.
- Add stickers, doodles, and text (all optional) using the buttons at the top of the screen.
- When you’re ready to share, tap + Your Story at the bottom of the screen.
