Doughnuts comes in different shapes, have different fillings, and topped with various toppings and frosting. While they are typically deep fried, baking them results in healthier doughnuts.
Ingredients
Makes 12 doughnuts.
- 2 mashed small bananas, or a cup
- 1/2 cup raw cane sugar
- 1/2 cup fat free Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (or spelt white flour)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Topping
- 1/4 cup raw cane sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon

1Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).

2Mix the wet ingredients. In a large bowl, beat the sugar, melted butter, eggs, mashed bananas, yogurt, and vanilla with a stand or hand mixer.Advertisement

4Incorporate the two bowls. Sift the dry ingredients into the wet ingredient bowl.
