This wikiHow teaches you how to use an app called Always on Top to ensure your favorite Windows applications always remain visible.
Steps

1Navigate to https://www.labnol.org/software/tutorials/keep-window-always-on-top/5213/ in a web browser. This brings you to a page that introduces the Always on Top application.

2Scroll down and click the labnol.org link. It’s below the screenshot of a graph on a spreadsheet.Advertisement

3Click Save. A zip file containing called always-on-top.zip will download to your computer.

4Double-click the zip file. This opens the file in the Windows default zip program.

5Click Extract all. It’s in the toolbar at the top of the window.

6Select a location. If you plan to use the app a lot, you might want to save it to the desktop. Click Browse, select Desktop, then click Select Folder.

7Click Extract. Always on Top will now extract to the selected location.

8Double-click Always on Top to run it. You’ll see a new icon appear in the taskbar near the clock. It looks like “DI.” As long as you see this icon in the taskbar, you can use the utility.
- If you don’t see the icon, click the upward-pointing arrow in the taskbar to view those which are hidden.

9Click the window you want to stay on top. If the application or website isn’t open yet, open it now.

10Hold Ctrl and press the spacebar. The selected window is now pinned atop all other apps.
- To remove the window from its topmost position, hold Ctrl and press the spacebar again.
- If you reboot your computer, you'll have to start Always on Top again. To do this, open the folder to which you extracted it, then double-click its icon.
