This wikiHow teaches you how to write a multi-line Slack message in a post or channel when you’re using an Android.

Steps

  1. 1
Open Slack on your Android. It’s the “S” icon on a multicolored background. You’ll usually find it on the home screen or in the app drawer.
  2. 2
Tap a channel or conversation. You can type a message that spans multiple lines in a chat channel or direct message.
    • To open a channel, tap the team name at the top-left corner of the screen, then tap an option under “Channels.”
    • To open a message, tap the team name at the top-left corner of the screen, then tap a message under “Direct Messages.”
  3. 3
Type the first line of your message.
  4. 4
Tap the Enter key on your Android’s keyboard. This usually looks like an arrow pointing to the left. The cursor will move to the next line.
  5. 5
Type the next line of your message.
  6. 6
Tap Enter. This opens another line, if you wish to continue.
  7. 7
Type another line. Repeat this process as many times as you wish to type your entire message.
  8. 8
Tap the send button. It’s the blue paper airplane at the bottom-right corner of the screen. Your multiple-line message will now appear in the message or conversation.
