This wikiHow teaches you how to save directions from Google Maps to your computer as a PDF document, using a desktop internet browser. When saving, you can choose to include a map image and written directions, or exclude the map and only download the written directions.

Steps

    Open Google Maps in your internet browser. Type https://www.google.com/maps into the address bar, and press Enter or Return on your keyboard.

    Click the blue Directions icon next to the search bar. This button looks like a white, rightward arrow icon in a blue traffic sign. You can find it to the right of the Search Google Maps bar on the top-left.

    Get the directions you want to download. Enter your starting point and your destination to get a list of the available routes.

    Click the route you want to download. You'll find a list of the available routes on the left-hand side of your screen. Click the one you want to download.
    • This will expand the details of the selected route.

    Click Print including maps on the drop-down. This option will allow you to download the route details and the directions on the map on the same page.
    • If you select Print text only, you'll have the route details and written directions, but not the map.

    Click the blue Print button on the top-right. This button is in the upper-right corner of the map. It will open a print preview of your map directions.

    Click on PDF near the bottom of the pop up window.
    • On some computers, you may have to click Change next to "Destination" in the print preview window, then select Save as PDF on the printer list. Then, click the blue Save button, which you can find in the upper-left corner of the print preview window.

    Click Save as PDF from the drop down menu.

    Name your file and click Save. You can also choose a location to save it to under "Where:".
