How to Delete a Slack Member on Android

This wikiHow teaches you how to remove a member from a Slack workspace and all of its channels, using Android. You have to be a workspace owner or admin to remove members.

Steps

    Open your Android's mobile internet browser. The Slack app doesn't allow you to manage members, but you can do it if you log in through your mobile internet browser.

    Go to the Slack website in your browser. Type slack.com into your browser's address bar, and hit ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard.

    Tap the ⋮ icon. This button is in the upper-right corner of your browser. It will open your browser options on a drop-down menu.

    Select Request desktop site on the drop-down menu. When this option is enabled, your browser will reload your current page, and open the desktop version of the website.
    • In some browsers, this option may just be named Desktop site.
    • If you skip this step and log in on the mobile site, you won't be able to open the members menu.

    Click Sign in. This option is written in blue letters below the large, blue GET STARTED button. It will allow you to sign in to any of your current workspaces.

    Enter your workspace's address into the URL field. You can use your keyboard to type the workspace address, or paste it from your clipboard.

    Tap the green Continue button. This will prompt you to enter your email address and password on the next page.

    Sign in with your email and password. Enter your email and password associated with this workspace, and tap the green Sign in button. This will sign you in, and open your workspace in the browser.

    icon next to your workspace's name.     The workspace name is listed at the top of the navigation menu in the upper-left corner of your screen. Tapping will open your workspace options on a drop-down menu.

    Tap Manage members on the menu. This option is listed below your workspace's name and icon in the middle of the drop-down menu. It will open your workspace's Members page.
    • If you can't see Manage members here, find and tap Administration.

    Scroll down and tap the blue arrow next to a member. Find the member you want to delete on the Full Members list, and tap the arrow icon next to their name. This will reveal your member options.

    Tap Deactivate Account below the member's name. This will remove the selected member from your workspace and all of its channels.
