This wikiHow teaches you how to delete a Nintendo Network ID on a Wii or 3DS gaming system. Deleting a Network ID permanently deletes the associated user account, purchases, eStore balance, Miiverse data, and licenses from all linked systems.
Steps
Method 1
Method 1 of 2:Deleting a Network ID on a Wii U Deluxe or Wii U Basic
Method 1
-
1Select a Mii character on the Wii U menu. Choose the character associated with the Network ID you want to delete.[1]
- If you only have one user/character on this Wii, you won’t be able to delete the account or Network ID. You’ll need to format the system instead.
- Deleting the Network ID permanently deletes your balance, purchases, licenses, and Miiverse data. If you don’t want to lose this information, you’ll be able to skip deleting the Network ID and just delete the user from the system.
- If the Network ID you’re deleting is also linked to a 3DS, this method will also delete the ID from that system.
-
2Select Delete This User. If prompted, enter the 4-digit PIN and tap OK.
- If the option to delete the user isn’t available, you’ll need to format the Wii instead.
