How to Convert SWF to MOV

This wikiHow teaches you how to upload an animated SWF file to the Convertio converter website, and download a MOV video version of the same file, using a desktop internet browser. A SWF (Small Web Format) file is an animation created with Adobe Flash. Converting it to MOV will allow you to play and edit the file as a video.

Steps

Open the Convertio website in your internet browser. Type convertio.co into the address bar, and hit ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard.
- Convertio is a free file converter you can use in your internet browser. You can upload a file, convert it to another format, and download the converted file to your computer.

Click the red From Computer button below "Select Files to Convert." You'll find this button in the middle of Convertio's homepage. It will allow you to select the file you want to convert in a new pop-up window.
- Alternatively, you can drag and drop the file you want to convert here. This will automatically upload the file to the converter.
- You can also click one of the Dropbox, Google Drive, or URL link icons next to the red button, and convert a file from your cloud storage or a webpage.

Upload the SWF file you want to convert. Select the file you want to upload in the file explorer window, and click Open to upload it to the converter.
- If you want to convert multiple files, hold Control on Windows or ⌘ Command on Mac, and select all the files you want to upload.

Click the file format drop-down next to your file. You'll see a list of your uploaded files on this page. You can find the conversion format selector next to "to" on the right-hand of the list.

Hover over VIDEO on the drop-down menu. This will show you a list of all the available video formats.

Select MOV on the list. When this option is selected, your SWF file will be converted to a MOV video.

Click the red Convert button. You can find this button at the bottom of the uploaded files list. It will convert your files to the selected format.
- The Convert button will read "Please Wait" while the conversion is in progress.

Click the green DOWNLOAD button. This button will show up next to your file on the right-hand side when the conversion is complete.
- It will download the converted MOV file to your browser's default downloads folder.
- If you don't have a default folder set for your downloads, you'll be prompted to select a location to save your MOV.
