How to Change Your WeChat Profile Picture on Android

This wikiHow teaches you how to select a picture from your device's image gallery and set it as your new WeChat profile photo, using Android.

Steps

    Open the WeChat app on your Android. The WeChat icon looks like two white speech balloons in a green box on your Apps menu. WeChat will open up to a list of your recent chats.
    • If WeChat opens up to a chat conversation, tap the back button to go back to your chats list.

    icon.     This is your Me tab in the lower-right corner of your screen. It will open your personal profile menu.

    Tap your display name. It's located next to your profile photo at the top of your screen. This will open your My Profile page.

    Tap your profile photo. It's located in the upper-right corner of your My Profile page. Tapping will open your profile photo in full-screen.

    Tap the three vertical dots icon. It's in the upper-right corner of your screen. This button will open a menu of options to edit your profile photo.

    Tap Select from Album on the menu. This button will open your device's image gallery for you to pick a new profile photo.

    Select a new profile photo from your device's gallery. Scroll down to browse your image gallery, and tap the image you want to use as your new profile photo. This will open your selected image in full-screen.
    • If the image you've selected is not in square format, you can tap and drag it to adjust which parts of the image you want to use as your profile photo.
    • You can also use your device's camera and take a new photo by tapping Take Photo. You can find this option in the upper-left corner of your gallery.

    Tap the OK button. This is a green button in the upper-right corner of your screen. It will set this picture as your new profile photo.
