This wikiHow teaches you how to change the custom text on your Instagram story to a different font, using an iPhone or iPad. You can select one of the five available font options for any piece of text you add. You can't change the text font after posting your story.
Steps

1Open Instagram on your iPhone or iPad. The Instagram app looks like a white camera icon in an orange-and-purple square. You can find it on your home screen or in an app folder.

2Tap the camera icon on the top-left. This button is in the upper-left corner of your Home feed. It will open your camera screen.
- If the app opens up to a different tab, tap the tiny house icon on the bottom-left to open your Home feed.
- Alternatively, swipe right on the Home feed to open the camera screen.

3Tap the white circle button at the bottom. This is the Capture button. It will take a new picture, and allow you to add it to your story.
- Alternatively, press and hold the Capture button to record a video.

4Tap the Aa icon on the top-right. This button will allow you to type text on your picture or video.

5Type the text you want to add. You can use your keyboard to type any text here.

6Tap the font name at the top of your screen. Your current font name is listed at the top of your screen. Tapping on the font name here will change your text to one of the other available fonts.
- Available fonts include CLASSIC, MODERN, NEON, TYPEWRITER, and STRONG.

7Select a font color on the color row. You'll see a row of all the available colors above your keyboard. Just tap any color here to change your text color.
- Optionally, you can select the eyedropper tool here, and select a color for your text from the background picture.

8Tap the A button on the top-left (optional). With the CLASSIC, TYPEWRITER, and STRONG fonts, you'll find this button in the upper-left corner next to the font name. It will change your font's background.

9Tap the horizontal lines icon on the top-left (optional). With the CLASSIC and TYPEWRITER fonts, you can tap this button in the upper-left corner to change your text's alignment.
- You can center the text on the picture, or align it left or right.

10Drag the slider on the left to change font size in CLASSIC (optional). If you're using the CLASSIC font, you can hold down and drag the slider on the left-hand side of your screen, and change your font's size.

11Tap Done on the top-right. This will save your text on the picture or video.

12Tap Your Story on the bottom-left. This button looks like your profile picture in the lower-left corner of your screen. It will post this picture or video to your daily story.Advertisement
