How to Attack a Banshee in Halo

In online multiplayer in Halo, many inexperienced players (or " shee noobs") use the powerful flying vehicle "Banshee" as the only means of getting kills. This makes life hard for everyone in the match, so if you want to dispose of the Banshees fast, here are some ways to do it.

Method 1

On Foot

Go into the cave to get the overshield.

Switch over to a pistol or other suitable far range weapon. At close range like swooping use an Assault Rifle

Shoot at the Banshee when it is far. This will draw its attention.

Move to the side and jump over his wing if he swoops down at you. Turn around and throw a plasma grenade at it.

Aim at the sides and back of the Banshee, where the armor is minimal. Not straight at the nose of the Banshee.

Have a shotgun, rocket launcher, plasma cannon, flamethrower, or other high powered, close range weapon. When the Banshee is close enough, switch from your pistol to your high powered weapon.

Dodge his shots as well as possible; plasma holds you in spot(when only getting hit by the legs), so the less hits you take, the more you can move.

Take a Sniper Rifle and find cover. Zoom in once and follow the path of the Banshee. When it heads away from you zoom in the second time and shoot the driver out of the Banshee. This may require extensive practice.

All kinds of plasma weapons will eat up the pilot's shield, and will make easy to kill. Additionally when Banshees gets hit from the rear plasma weapons will make the Banshee lose its maneuverability. So it is very useful.

In Warthogs

Get in a Warthog. If you are in a rocket Warthog, you can shoot when it gets close; in a machine gun Warthog, you may fire at all distances

Watch out for smart pilots, since they can get over you, you cannot shoot them anymore, it is best to have a driver.

Warnings

If using a Warthog, make sure you have a driver, as shooting at a Banshee while stationary makes you a sitting duck just waiting to be plasma bombed.

When you go to get the Banshee to drive it, be careful, and look around you for enemies waiting for you to do just that.
