This wikiHow teaches you how to enter and add a custom label to a location on Google Maps, using an iPhone or iPad. You can search your custom label and quickly find this location later.

Steps

Open Google Maps on your iPhone or iPad. The Maps app looks like a tiny map icon with a red location pin on it. You can find it on your home screen or in an app folder.

Find the location you want to label. Tap, hold, and drag your screen to move around the map, or use the search bar at the top to find an address.

Tap and hold the location you want to label. This will drop a red pin on the selected location, and show its street address at the bottom of your screen.
- In order to get an accurate address, zoom into the map by pinching out on your screen with two fingers.

Tap the location's address at the bottom. Your location's address details and your options will slide in from the bottom.

Tap the LABEL button. This button looks like a blue flag icon on the address details page. It will open a new page, and allow you to add a custom label to this location.

Enter the label you want to add to this location. Tap the "Enter a label" field on the Edit label page, and enter the label you want to add here.

Tap DONE. This button is in the upper-right corner of your screen. It will save your label to this location.
- You can use the search function anytime to quickly find your labeled location on the map.
