Have you ever wanted to write a novel that is filled with creatures that no one has ever heard of? Or write a story full of wizards and spell casting? For tips on how to do it, read below.
Steps
-
1Get your inspiration. What kind of magical story are you writing?
- Princess, Prince, Wizard
- Curse, eerie setting
-
2Write down your characters':
- Looks
- Personality (Mary Sues' make many stories boring)
- Background (Did their parents die? Are they royalty?)
- Flaw (Which is most important. No one likes a perfect person in a perfect world. that makes the story boring.)

3Get your plot. You must know how your story will start and end. You can not end the book with a cliffhanger, unless it will have a sequel. You can't make it go on and on and on. this will make readers stop reading your book. Try stopping after three books or so. Try to limit yourself to ten at the most.
-
4Last, you must give it a BANG! What will your readers be interested in this story? What details will you have to put in to keep your reader going on?
-
5Imagine you are the person. What will you do? Who will you meet? What do you do? Where do you go? How did you get there?Advertisement

Community AnswerTry starting it with speech. Try something mysterious, and try not to say that it is magic, try hinting it by maybe writing about magical things, don't explain, just carry on. Bit by bit, the reader will understand, and you can start adding more detail and wonders to the story. This also depends on how big the story is. -
QuestionI'm writing a story about a magic story that lets me travel to a different world like a dragon cove or a dead guy forest. How do I start?
Community AnswerMaybe show the villain traveling from worlds to do something evil or dark in the prologue, then start chapter 1 with the main characters. Introduce setting, and if it is a hard-magic system or a soft-magic one. Then get deeper into the characters and introduce the conflict.
