This wikiHow teaches you how to use command lines in a Skype chat in order to do various administrative tasks, such as setting member roles, changing the chat topic or disabling notifications.

Steps

  1. 1
Open Skype on your computer, phone or tablet. The Skype app looks like a blue-and-white "S" in a circle icon.
  2. 2
Tap or click a chat conversation. You can use commands in all group and personal chats.
  3. 3
Type /help into the message line. This command will show you a list of all the available commands you can use in your chat.
  4. 4
Tap or click the Send icon. It looks like a paper plane icon next to the message field. This will process your command line, and bring you a list of available commands.
  5. 5
Type the command line you want to use into the message field.
    • When you type /, a list of recent and common commands will pop up above the message field.
  6. 6
Tap or click the Send icon. This will process and apply your command line in the chat.
