This wikiHow teaches you how to make sure your iPhone’s music library stays up-to-date—even when you’re not connected to Wi-Fi.

Steps

  1. 1
Open your iPhone’s Settings. It’s the app on your desktop with a gray gear icon.
  2. 2
Scroll down and tap iTunes and App Store. You’ll only need to scroll down a screen or two.

  3. 3
Slide the “Music” switch to the On position. It’s in the “Automatic Downloads” section. The switch will turn green.
  4. 4
Slide the “Use Cellular Data” switch to the On position. The switch will turn green. Now your music library will remain updated even when you’re not connected to Wi-Fi.[1]
    • If you don’t have an unlimited data plan, using cellular data for your music library can be costly.
    • If anything else under “Automatic Downloads” is enabled (Apps, Books & Audiobooks, or Updates) is enabled, its content will update over cellular data. To disable updates for one of these options, move its switch to the Off position.
