This wikiHow teaches you how to upload files to Slack channels or conversations from your iPhone or iPad.

Steps

  1. 1
Open Slack on your iPhone or iPad. It’s the icon with multicolored squares and a black “S” inside. It’s usually on the home screen.
  2. 2
Tap the Slack logo. It’s the rainbow hashtag at the top-left corner of the screen.
  3. 3
Tap a channel or direct message. The contents of the conversation will appear.
  4. 4
Tap the attachment icon. It’s the sheet of paper with a paperclip at the bottom of the screen. This opens a list of files you’ve already uploaded.
  5. 5
Tap + Add a file. It’s at the top-right corner of the list.
  6. 6
Tap Browse. It’s at the bottom of the screen. Your phone or tablet’s file manager will appear.
  7. 7
Tap the file you want to upload. If you don’t see it in the main list, tap Browse at the bottom of the screen to view additional folders. You’ll even be able to browse folders on Dropbox and Google Drive, if you use those apps.
  8. 8
Enter a comment. This is optional.
  9. 9
Tap the check mark. It’s at the top-right corner of the screen. Your file will then upload to the chat or conversation.
