DuckDuckGo is a search engine that respects user’s privacy. It uses the results from a variety of other search engines, as well as their own system as a back end.[1] If you have children, or just don't want to see adult content in search results, then Safe Search is a good way to filter it out. This article will teach you how enable Safe Search in just a few clicks.

1Search something. It doesn't matter what for, but the settings for Safe Search appears after you search something.

2Click on the Safe Search: Off button. This brings up the Safe Search menu where you can change the Safe Search settings.

3Decide on which level you want to set Safe Search to. DuckDuckGo offers two different levels of Safe Search, either Moderate, or Strict. Below is a description of each:
- Moderate: filters out adult images and videos from search results.
- Strict: filters out everything that Moderate does, plus adult text.

4Enjoy and explore your safe DuckDuckGo search engine. With Safe Search enabled, most explicit results should now be filtered out. Keep in mind that no filter will ever completely remove all explicit results.
