This wikiHow teaches you how to enable camera flash for photos or videos taken in Snapchat.

Steps

  1. 1
Open the Snapchat app. It's the white ghost icon on a yellow background.
    • If you aren't logged into Snapchat, tap Log In and enter your username (or email address) and password.
  2. 2
Tap the lightning bolt icon. It's in the top right corner of the camera page (to the left of the camera swap icon). Tapping this icon should remove the x below it.
    • If there is no x below the lightning bolt icon, flash is already turned on.

  3. 3
Tap the large circle at the bottom of the screen. Doing so will take a snap with flash enabled. There will be a short delay between tapping this button and the picture being taken due to the flash activating.
    • Flash will work for both of your phone's camera directions.
    • You can also hold this button to record a video with flash.

Warnings

  • Using flash unexpectedly can cause your snap subjects to blink or squint before the snap is actually taken.
