How to Turn Off Autoplay Videos in Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge offers the ability to limit or block automatically playing videos. This will help keep your web browser silent unless you opt to start a video manually. Be warned, though, that turning off autoplay videos on some websites may cause them to function incorrectly.

Steps

    Open Edge settings. To do so, click on the triple dots then choose "Settings".

    Select "Cookies and site permissions". This button has an image of a tab with a gear next to it.

    Select "Media autoplay". This button has an image of a music note next to it.

    Change the dropdown from "Allow" to "Limit". This will limit the autoplaying of videos, except in cases where the website will not function correctly.
