Tiling a picture in Microsoft Word is helpful when you want to create art and newsletters, or when you want to feature a watermark or logo in the background of important documents. To tile a picture in Word, you must insert an image as a fill effect.
Steps
-
1Open the Word document in which you want to tile a picture.
-
2Click on “Page Layout” or “Design,” then click on “Page Color.”
-
3Click on “Fill Effects.” This opens the Fill Effects menu.
-
4Click on the “Picture” tab, then click “Select Picture.”[1]
-
5Select the picture or image you want tiled, then click “Insert.” The image will appear in the preview pane of your document.
-
6Click “OK.” Your picture will now be tiled in the background of your Word document.
-
7Drag the “Zoom” slider button to the left or right to resize the tiles as desired.
-
8Click on “File” and select “Options.” This opens the Word Options window.
-
9Click on “Display” in the left pane of Word Options.
-
10Place a checkmark next to “Print background colors and images,” then click “OK.” Your picture is now tiled in the background and will print in the background of your Word document.[2]
