After an hour or of using a Tech-Deck, the trucks (axles) of the Tech-Deck eventually start to loosen. You will need to tighten them; otherwise, your pops will not be as good and neither will be your Ollie or other tricks. And if you change the wheels, they may become loose very quickly. Fortunately, it's easy to tighten them. Here's how.
Steps
-
1Take out the little, yellow tool that came with the Tech-Deck. If you don't have one of these, you can ask to borrow one from a friend or buy one for a dollar.
-
2Also take out the tech-deck.
-
3Tighten the loose trucks first. The trucks are loose if you can wobble them easily.
-
4Insert the screwdriver end of the tool into the bolt of the truck you're tightening first.
-
5Twist the tool clockwise direction.
-
6Keep twisting the tool this direction until the truck is nice and stiff.
-
7Repeat with the second truck.
-
8Tighten any loose wheels only after the trucks are tight. Wheels are loose if they move on their axles, along the lines where they are attached.
-
9Insert the screwdriver end of the tool into one of the wheels, right into the middle.
-
10Twist clockwise until twisting the wheel furthermore is firm.
-
11Repeat with all of the wheels.
Warnings
- Don't over-tighten the trucks! The bolts strip easily, and if the bolts are stripped, they will become permanently loose. Thanks!
- If you over-tighten the trucks your wheels won't roll correctly. Thanks!
