Think taking care of the WolfQuest pups is hard? No worries! This step-by-step manual will help you out!

Steps

  1. 1
Go to one of the dens on the map.
  2. 2
When you are in the den zone, find the den.
  3. 3
If you like it, click 'Make This my Den'.
  4. 4
Mark your territory. You can do this by pressing the 'P' button or by howling. Chase away stranger wolves and bite grizzly bears. If you see coyotes, kill them.
  5. 5
When you are done, A notice will pop up saying you're having pups. If you can, name them.
  6. 6
When the pups wander away from the den run after them. When you see the yellow wolf head press the spacebar to pick them up. Walk back to the den and press the spacebar to put the back down.
  7. 7
When you eat, keep eating to get extra food for them. When they beg, walk up to them. When you see the yellow wolf head, press the 'F' button to feed them.
  8. 8
When you are more than 25 meters (82.0 ft) from the den, your pups will be safe.
  9. 9
When coyotes come, kill them. When grizzlies come, bite them three times.

    Feed the pups often.
  11. 11
Train them to stay near the den.
  12. 12
Don't forget to mark your territory and fight off stranger wolves!

Community Q&A

  • Question
    How do you name them?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
In order to name your pups, you must have at least 2,000 exp. points. Otherwise, you can name them later. Type in the name you want in that pup's name box. Note that unless you wait to name them later, you cannot see the pups beforehand.
  • Question
Can my pups get stolen? If so, how I you get them back?

    Community Answer
On single player, they cannot be stolen, only killed. If you are playing multiplayer, yes, other players can steal them, so if they try, ask the host to kick the thief or kick them yourself.
  • Question
Are foxes and cougars also predators?

Cougars will show up at your den site, but foxes will not. The only predators you have to look out for are grizzlies, cougars, coyotes, and hawks.

Eat some food, then go to your pups. When you stand over or near them, a yellow wolf head will appear. Once it does, press 'f' to regurgitate your food for them to eat.
  • Question
Why does my game make me put my pup down at random times when I am running to move my summer site?

When you are holding your pup, the energy bar goes down, and that is why you drop your pup in random places.
  • Question
How do I find a mate if I can't find a wolf whenever I go to a wolf territory?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
You need 800 experience points to find a dispersal female/male in the wolf territories. Gain these points by hunting down elk, chasing off grizzlies, killing coyotes, etc. After that, you should find a dispersal wolf fairly quickly.
  • Question
Can pups in WolfQuest die of hunger?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Yes, they can indeed. They can even die of hunger if you leave the den for too long. If you can't find elk, your best bet is to try to find a carcass.
  • Question
Will the pups still be threatened by predators when they grow up in the newest version?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Yes, and it is harder to protect them. My first 2 pups were killed because I didn't have enough time to save them. You also have a new predator to protect them from, a cougar.
