How to Tag Faces on Google Photos on Android

This wikiHow teaches you how to create and add a contact tag in Google Photos in order to tag one of your friends in all the pictures they appear in, using Android.

Steps

Open the Google Photos app on your Android. The Photos app looks like a colored pinwheel icon with red, orange, green, and blue curls. You can find it on your Apps menu.

Tap the search bar at the top. The search field is labeled "Search your photos" at the top of your screen. It will open the search page.

Tap the picture of the contact you want to tag. The search page shows you a list of your contacts' pictures. You can tap an untagged contact here to tag them in all of their photos.
- Tapping a contact will open a grid of all the photos they appear in.
- If you don't see the contact you want to tag here, tap the right-arrow button at the end of the list to see more contacts.

Tap the Add a name button. This option is written in blue letters below your contact's profile picture at the top of the page. This will allow you to create a tag for the selected contact.

Enter your contact's name. You can use your keyboard to type your contact's name here, or paste text from your clipboard.

Tap the
button on your keyboard. This button is in the lower-right corner of your screen. It will save your contact's tag, and apply it to all of their photos.

Search your contact's tag anytime to see their photos. If you want to see a list of your tagged contact's photos, just search their tag name in Photos. This will bring up all the pictures they appear in.
