How to Switch Google Accounts on Android

This wikiHow teaches you how to add another one of your Google accounts to your Android phone or tablet, as well as how to switch between the two in Gmail.

Adding the Other Account

Open your Android's Settings. It's the gear
icon typically found in the app drawer. You may also find it in the notification bar.

Scroll down and tap Accounts. It's under the “Personal” header.

Tap Add account. It's at the bottom of the list.

Tap Google. This opens a Google sign-in screen.
- You may have to enter your PIN, pattern, or password before the sign-in screen appears.

Enter the email address and tap NEXT. This is the gmail.com address you use to access your other Google account.
- If you don't already have another Google account, tap Or create a new account to set one up now.

Enter your password and tap NEXT. A welcome message will appear.

Tap I AGREE. Both Google accounts are now simultaneously logged in to your Android.

Switching Between Accounts in Gmail

Open Gmail on your Android. It's the red and white envelope icon typically found on the home screen. It will open to your inbox.

Tap the ☰ menu. It's at the top-left corner of Gmail.

Tap your profile photo. It's at the top-left corner of the menu. This opens a list of Google accounts currently signed in on your Android.

Tap the other account. This opens the inbox of the other Google account.
- To switch back to the original account, tap ☰, tap your profile photo, and then tap the other account.
