How to Switch Between Accounts on Dropbox on Android

This wikiHow teaches you how to switch between multiple Dropbox accounts on your Android phone or tablet. You can either sign out and back in to the Dropbox app, or use an app like B1 File Manager to manage multiple Dropbox accounts.

Method 1

Method 1 of 2:
Signing Out and Back In

Open Dropbox. It’s the blue open box icon typically found in the app drawer. You will now see the Dropbox contents for the currently logged-in user.
- In this method, you will sign this user out and sign in with a different Dropbox account.

Tap ☰. It’s at the top-left corner of the screen.

Scroll down and tap Settings.

Tap Sign out of Dropbox. A confirmation will appear.

Tap SIGN OUT. You will be redirected to the sign-in screen.

Tap Sign in. It’s the blue link at the bottom of the screen.

Enter the username and password for another Dropbox and tap SIGN IN. Now you’ll see the Dropbox contents for this other Dropbox.
- To switch back to the other Dropbox account, follow the steps in this method, then sign in using that account’s username and password.

Using a B1 File Manager

Open the Play Store
. You’ll typically find it in the app drawer or on the home screen. This is where you can install B1 File Manager, a free app that allows you to sign in to multiple Dropbox accounts at the same time.

Type b1 file manager into the search bar. A list of search results will appear.

Tap B1 File Manager and Archiver. It’s the app with a blue binder icon containing a “B1.”

Tap INSTALL. B1 will now install to your phone or tablet.
- If you are prompted to give the app permission to access your files, you should do so.

Open B1 File Manager. Now that the app is installed, you can tap OPEN on its page in the Play Store, or tap its icon in the app drawer.

Tap the back-arrow icon. It’s at the top-left corner of the app. This opens a menu.

Tap + next to “Networks.” It’s inside of a light-gray circle.

Tap Dropbox. Now you will be redirected to the Dropbox login page.

Enter your login information and tap Sign In. A confirmation message will appear.
- It doesn’t matter which account you sign into first, as you’ll be signing into the other in a moment.

Tap Allow. This displays the contents of the Dropbox in B1. Now it’s time to add another Dropbox account.

Tap the back-arrow to open the menu. It’s at the top-left corner of the screen.

Tap + next to “Networks.”

Enter the login information from another Dropbox account and tap Sign In. Now you’ll see the contents of the second Dropbox. This means both Dropbox accounts are signed in at once.
- You can sign in to additional Dropboxes if you wish.

Switch between accounts. You can do this by tapping the back-arrow icon at the top-left corner of the screen, then selecting the other Dropbox under “Networks.” You can do this as often as you wish without having to sign out from either account.
