This wikiHow teaches you to stop targeted ads from appearing in the Snapchat app. When you turn this feature off, you'll still get ads - they just won't be based on your activity from outside of Snapchat.

Steps

  1. 1
    Open Snapchat.
  2. 2
Swipe down. This opens the Profile screen.
  3. 3
Tap the “Settings” icon. This is the small gear icon in the top right of the profile screen.
  4. 4
Tap Manage Preferences. This is in the “Additional Services” section.
  5. 5
    Tap Ad Preferences.
  6. 6
Tap the slider next to “Snap Audience Match”.
  7. 7
Select Disable. The space to the right of the button should be white. Snapchat will no longer use information from its ad partners to target specific ads, though it will still target ads based on your Snapchat activity. These ads will appear in the Stories section of Snapchat.
