3Select a range of cells with dates. Select any additional cells you want to sort with the dates. Dates should be typed in mm/dd/yyyy format. You can select a range of cells in several ways:
- Tap the letter at the top of a column to select an entire column.
- Tap the numbers to the left to select an entire row.
- Tap the empty gray cell in the top-left corner to select the entire sheet.
- Tap a specific cell, then drag the blue dot (handle) in the corner to expand the selection.
-
4Tap ⋯. It's the three-dot icon in the top-right corner. This opens a drop-down menu.
-
5Tap Create a filer. It's near the middle of the drop-down menu, just under the "Explore" option.
- If you manually selected your range of cells by dragging the selection earlier, the top-most cell will be designated the filter's title and will not be sorted.
-
6Tap the green triangle. It's the green triangle icon with three lines above the dates. This will open the filter menu.
-
7Tap a sorting option. Tap one of the following sorting options under the "Sort and filter" menu:
- A→Z: This will sort the dates in chronological order (oldest dates to newest dates).
- Z→A: This will sort the dates in reverse-chronological order (newest dates to oldest dates).
