How to Share Google One Storage With Your Family

If you have a Google One subscription, you can share your space with family members. Each of those users have 15GB of free space as soon as they create a Google account and will be able to use your Google One space after that. This wikiHow will teach you how to add family members and share Google One storage with them. Although you're sharing your storage space with your family, they cannot access your files.

Adding Family Members with the Google One Mobile App

Open Google One. The app icon looks like a multicolored "1" that you'll find on one of your Home screens, in the app drawer, or by searching.

Tap the Settings tab. You'll see this at the top of your screen with Home, Storage, and Support.

Tap Manage family settings. It's next to an icon of two avatars under the "Backup and Sharing" header near the middle of the menu.

Tap Manage family group. This is usually the first listing in the menu next to an icon of two avatars.

Tap Invite family members. You can have up to 5 other accounts linked to yours.^{[1]

- To remove a family member, tap their account from the family list, then tap Remove member.

Adding Family Members using a Web Browser

Go to https://families.google.com/ and sign in (if prompted). You can use a mobile or desktop web browser to view your family and add accounts.

Click or tap Invite family member. You can have up to 5 other accounts linked to yours.

Enter your family member's email address. If you don't remember their email address, it may be in the list of suggestions below the text space.

Click or tap Send. It's a green button at the bottom of the form. That user will get an email invitation to join your family.
- To remove a family member, click or tap on their account from the family list and click or tap Remove Member.

Adding Family Members using the Play Store

Open the Google Play Store app
. You'll find this app icon that looks like a multicolored play icon on one of your Home screens, in the app drawer, or by searching.
- You can't use this method on an iPhone or iPad since this app is Android-only.

Tap ☰. You'll see this three-line menu icon in the top left corner of your screen.

Tap the Family tab. It's in the menu with Preferences and Rewards.

Tap Manage family members. A list of all your family members appears.

Tap Invite family members. It's at the bottom of the menu next to a plus sign.

Enter a recipient (their name, phone number, or email) and tap Send. The entered contact will receive a family membership invitation from you.
- If you want to remove a family member, tap that family member's name from the family list and tap ⋮ > Remove member.^{[2]

Click Settings. It's on the left side of your screen with an icon of a gear.

Click the down arrow next to Manage family settings. A menu will expand below the menu option.

Click the toggle next to "Share Google One with family" to turn it on
. The storage space that you subscribe to will begin sharing between your family members.
