Creating a New Event

    Open Google Calendar. It’s the blue calendar page with a white “31” inside, typically found on the home screen.

    Click Event. It’s the red icon with a white calendar inside.

    Enter the event information.
    • Type the event’s title into the box at the top of the screen.
    • Enter the date (or start and end date for a multi-day event).
    • Select a start and end time, or slide the “All-day” switch to the On position.
    • Tap Add location to enter the address or place where the event is held.
    • Tap More options to set additional preferences.
    • Select your notification preferences (or click the X if you don’t want to be notified before the event).

    Scroll down and tap Add guests. A list of contacts will appear.

    Select guests to invite. If you see someone you want to invite, tap their name to add them to the list. Otherwise, type a name or email address into the bar at the top of the screen, then select a person from the results.
    • If you forget to invite someone now, you can edit the event to invite more people.
    • Guests can invite others to the event by default. If you don’t want this to happen, slide the “Guests can add others” switch to the Off/gray position.

    Tap DONE. It’s at the top-right corner of the screen.

    Tap SAVE. It’s at the top-right corner of the screen. The event is created and invites have been sent.

Inviting to an Existing Event

    Open Google Calendar. It’s the blue calendar page with a white “31” inside, typically found on the home screen.

    Tap the event to which you want to invite people. This opens the event for editing.

    Tap the pencil. It’s in a circle at the top-left corner of the event.

    Scroll down and tap Add guests. It’s the icon with two gray outlines of people.
    • If you’ve already invited guests, you don’t see “Add guests,” but you will see the two gray outlines of people.

    Select guests to invite. If you see a potential guest on the screen, tap their name to add them to the list. If not, type a name or email address into the bar at the top of the screen, then select a person from the results.
    • Tap as many guests as you wish to add.
    • Guests can invite others to the event by default. If you don’t want this to happen, slide the “Guests can add others” switch to the Off/gray position.
