1Go to https://sheets.google.com in a web browser. If you’re not logged in to your Google account, follow the on-screen instructions to do so now.

2Click the file you want to save. If you prefer to create a new file, click the “+” in the box at the top-left corner of the file list.Advertisement

3Click the File menu. It’s at the top-left corner of Google Sheets.

4Click Download as…. A list of file formats will appear.

5Click Microsoft Excel (.xlsx).

6Select a download location. This is the folder on your computer where the file will be saved.
- If prompted to choose whether to open or save the file, select Save.

7Click Save. The file will now download to the selected folder.
- If you have Microsoft Excel on your computer, double-clicking the downloaded .xslx file should automatically open it in Excel.
