How to Save Voicemails from iPhone to Mac

This wikiHow teaches you how to save a voicemail on your iPhone to your Mac computer. You can easily save a voicemail to your iCloud Drive and access it on your Mac using iCloud. You'll need to be logged into the same iCloud account on both the iPhone and the Mac.

Saving a Voicemail to your iCloud Drive on iPhone

Make sure you're signed into iCloud and iCloud Drive is synced. You need to be signed into the same iCloud account on both the iPhone and the Mac computer. To check:
- Open Settings.
- Tap the Apple ID at the top. (If it's the wrong user, tap "Sign out.")
- Tap iCloud.
- Make sure the iCloud Drive switch is on (green).

Open Phone
. It's the green app with a white phone in it, usually located on the dock at the bottom of your home screen.

Tap Voicemail. It's the tab in the lower-right corner. It has an icon that resembles tape reels. This will display a list of your voicemail.

Tap a voicemail. This will display the playback options, as well as the share options.

. It's in the upper-right corner of the voicemail options.

Tap Save to Files. It's the button that has an image of a folder.

Tap iCloud Drive. It's next to the image of a blue cloud.

Tap Add. It's in the upper-right corner of the menu. This will save the voicemail to your iCloud account. You can now retrieve it on your Mac through iCloud.

Opening the iCloud Drive on Mac

Make sure you're signed into iCloud on the Mac. You need to be signed into the same iCloud account on both the iPhone and the Mac computer. To check:
- Click the Apple icon.
- Click System Preferences.
- Click iCloud.
- Check the account signed in. (If it's the wrong user, click "Sign Out.")
- Make sure the iCloud Drive checkbox is checked (blue).

Open Finder
. It's the icon of a blue and white smiley face on the far-left of your Mac's dock.

Click iCloud Drive. It's in the sidebar to the left at the top of the Finder window and is next to the gray icon of a cloud.

Drag the voicemail to a Mac folder. The voicemail file is usually named something like "voicemail-12.m4a" or something similar. Drag the file to any of the folders in the sidebar of the Finder window. This will save it to your Mac's hard drive.
- For example, if you wanted to save the voicemail file to the Desktop, you could drag the file to the Desktop folder on the left.
