This wikiHow teaches you how to save pictures from Facebook Messenger to your Android device. If you don’t want to save pictures individually, Messenger can automatically save new images to your gallery.

1Open Messenger. It’s the blue chat bubble with a white lightning bolt in the app drawer.
- Use this method any time you want to save a picture from Messenger to your device. If you want all pictures in Messenger to save automatically, see Saving Photos Automatically.

2Select a conversation.

3Tap the photo you want to save. It will open in full-screen mode.

4Tap ⁝. It’s at the top-right corner of the screen.

5Tap Save. The photo is now saved to your gallery.
