This wikiHow teaches you how to round up on Google Sheets for iPhone and iPad.
Steps
-
1Open Google Sheets. It's the app with the icon that resembles a green sheet of paper with a table on it.
- Download Google Sheets from the App Store and sign in with your Google account if you have not already done so.
-
2Open a Google Sheets document. Tap one of the existing documents in your list that's associated with your Google account.
- You can also tap the red "+" button in the bottom-right corner to start a new document.

3Select a cell. Tap any cell to select it.
-
4Type =ROUNDUP(value, places). Tap the formula field at the bottom and type =ROUNDUP(value, places). We will replace the words "value" and "places" with numbers.
-
5Replace the word "value" with the number or cell you want to round. A value can be a number, a math equation, or another cell that has a number in it.
- For example, if you wanted to round the result of 33.75 multiplied by 44.89, you would write =ROUNDUP(33.75*44.89). If you wanted to round up the number in cell B1, you would write =ROUNDUP(B1).
-
6Replace the word "places" with the decimal place you want to round to. Enter the number of the decimal place you want round the number to. For example, if you wanted to round up 9.75 to the nearest tenths place (i.e. the first decimal place; .X), you would type =ROUNDUP(9.75, 1) —which would round it to 9.8.
- By default, the "=ROUNDUP" formula will round to the nearest whole number, meaning the places value is always 0 unless you specify something different. If you just want to round to the nearest whole number, you don't have to include the places value (e.g. If you just type =ROUNDUP(9.75) it will round to 10).
-
7Press ↵ Enter. This applies the formula and rounds the number to the nearest decimal place you specified.Advertisement
