1Open your iPad’s Settings . It’s the gray gear icon typically found on the home screen. Before resetting your iPad to restore it from a backup, it’s important to make sure you have a proper backup available.[1]

2Tap your name. It’s at the top of the menu.

3Tap iCloud.

4Tap Storage.

5Tap Manage Storage.

6Tap your iPad under the “Backups” header. If you have an iCloud backup available, its date and size will be listed here.

- If no backup is listed, it’s not possible to restore your iPad from iCloud.

2Scroll down and tap General.

3Scroll down and Reset. It’s toward the bottom of the menu.

4Tap Erase All Content and Settings. It’s near the top of the menu.

5Enter your passcode. Type the code you use to unlock your iPad.

6Tap Restore from iCloud Backup. A sign-in screen will appear.

7Sign in to iCloud. Enter your Apple ID username and password to continue.[2]

8Tap Choose backup.

9Tap the backup you want to restore to.

10Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your iPad. Once the restore is complete, your iPad will be restored to the state it was in at the time of the selected backup.
- Your settings, accounts, apps, personal data, and purchased media will all be in place once the restore is complete. You may have to sign in to your account(s) to start this process.
- If the iPad cannot restore the version of an app that was backed up, it will download the latest version from the App Store automatically.
