How to Prevent Android from Geotagging Photos

This wikiHow teaches you how to disable location tagging, also known as “geotagging,” on your Android phone or tablet.

Changing the Camera Settings

    Open your camera app. The location of the app will vary by device, but you’ll typically find it by tapping a camera icon (likely labeled “Camera”) on your home screen.

    Open the camera settings. If you’re using the Android default camera on a modern device, you can get there by swiping right across the camera screen. Otherwise, look for a gear icon.

    • In the Android default camera app, scroll the menu on the left side of the screen until you see a teardrop-shaped icon with a circle inside. Tapping it once should display a message that says “Location off.”

Disabling Location Services
