Tea is a great refreshment for anyone any time. Many of us feel energetic by the aroma of tea. Orange pekoe or formally, orange tea, is a great drink that can be prepared and served in a jiffy!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar or sugar substitute
- 2 cups of boiling water
- 4 1/2 cups cold water or ice cubes
- 1-2 cups fresh orange juice {strained} for a clear tea
- 6 orange pekoe tea bags {approx} of high quality if available or traditional pekoe leaves
- 2-4 tbs of freshly prepared lemon juice (if not available try for a substitute)
- Lemon or orange wedges for garnish
- Fresh mint or any other suitable flavours garnish
Steps

1Place the pot on the stove. Add water and sugar. Gradually increase the temperature. Bring water to rolling boil make sure the sugar is dissolved completely or add more water.

2Remove cookware pot from heat source. Turn off heat source.

3Put the tea bags in the water or add 6 tbsp orange tea leaves (optimum) in hot water (if you like it to be strong add more). Cover pot with lid. Allow to steep for 10 minutes.

4Pour orange tea mixture from pot through into pitcher (or vessel) via tea strainer.{To remove the leaves}

5Pour 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice and 1/2 cup lime juice through tea strainer into pitcher(or vessel).

6Refrigerate for minimum of 1-2 hrs to chill.

7Pour into suitable glasses and serve.
