Little paintings are great gifts for friends and family. You can use many different techniques as well. This painting style will give you a great aesthetic.
Steps
Part 1
Part 1 of 2:Painting a Background
Part 1
-
1Decide what colors to use. The ideal colors are purple, pink, yellow, and white. You need to get your chosen paint and paint the background by using the desired amounts of paint. You will also need a flat brush.
- Brush size will depend on how big your canvas is.
-
2Coat your brush with some paint. Move your brush from side to side, spreading the paint down about the middle of the canvas but no farther. Clean your brush and do the same thing but this time use white and start from the bottom to the middle. Doing this will help you prepare for the blending.Advertisement
-
3Take a slightly smaller brush and move it in X patterns to start blending in the colors. Then clean the brush you used for the white using water and some paper towels and go back and forth on the canvas to even out the color. You can blend as much as your heart desires.
- If you're changing colors drastically, finish painting a color and then wipe your brush on a paper towel. Wet it if needed, then dry it. Then use your next color.

Part 2 of 2:Painting your Clouds
Part 2
-
1Paint the clouds. Take some white paint and the smallest amount of the lightest blue you can find. Mix them together for a slightly tinted cloud. Take a round bristle brush for big clouds or a small fan brush for little clouds.
-
2Paint big clouds. Get a small amount of the white blue mix and dip it on the brush. Blotch it in small areas making sure not to overdo it. Press hard in places where the clouds are bigger and more full. Press lighter for less fluffy clouds.
-
3Paint smaller, string-like clouds. Take a small fan brush and get paint on just the tips. decide where you want these clouds to go. Think about the line clouds during a sunset and use that as your guide. Using back and fourth motions, make lines all around the area you chose.
-
4Take a clean flat brush. Lightly brush up for big clouds or, lightly brush side to side for small clouds. They will give off the puffy or blurry effect.Advertisement
Warnings
- If you make too many lines, they may stick together and your clouds will appear muddy. Thanks!
